Packard’s Turn on The Podium

The 10th annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance is the largest for-charity concours in the world and promises to make this coming weekend memorable.  This year’s Concours celebrates Packard as the Marque of the Year, and features the Classic Car Club of America’s Grand Classic.  With thirty-three separate classes for automobiles, from Brass Era autos to Post-War European GTs, all pre-1975 vehicles of import are sure to find a niche. Standards for judging are based on a thorough evaluation of the vehicle’s condition, authenticity, and appeal; break out the feather duster and see to that cracked dash, because the body, interior and engine compartment will be subject to the scrutiny of a skilled panel of judges.  And be sure to sort out that knock in the engine, because Grand Marshal Wayne Carini will be making sure only vehicles that take the field by their own power will be judged.  Please, original and unmodified only.

Truly Distinguished Automobiles

This event is more than just a concours, the Friday and Saturday leading up to the main event boast duPont Registry’s Live Hangar Party and a charity gala, respectively.  The former is is a night spent in the lap of luxury, with gourmet food and wine and examples of some of the world’s finest personal transports.  The latter maintains the gourmet cuisine but this time with a special performance by renowned collector and comedian Jay Leno.

So enter your classic and see if it meets the criteria to rub elbows with some truly distinguished automobiles, or buy a ticket and join the spectators.  Either way, all proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, a group providing support and positive influences for all children, regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity.
