1994 Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 S Flachbau
Lot 23‘s Porsche 964 is a favorite of our Southeast Sales Manager, Chris Warren. As a 964 Turbo S, this 911 produces 385 bhp from its 3.6 liter flat six. But this isn’t any 911, it’s a Flachbau. The unique front-end was a Porsche Exclusive option installed on only 76 cars. All it takes is a flattened nose to turn a wonderful driver’s car into a museum piece.
1962 Porsche 356 B Twin Grille Roadster
Keith Neelans, Premier’s Northeast Sales Manager and preeminent Porschephile, has his eye on the 356B at Lot 146. Painstakingly restored and outfitted with desirable upgrades, this sporty two-seater is fresh off the concours green. It’s twin grille specification refers to the split vents over its rear-mounted 1.7 liter Porsche four-cylinder.
1970 Porsche 917K
Even though it’s not road legal, West Coast Sales Manager Juan Garcia can’t help coveting the Porsche 917K at Lot 44. It’s not a model, nor a replica, it’s a real piece of Porsche racing history. While this particular 917K may never participated in Le Mans the race, it did get quite a bit of screen time in Le Mans, the movie. Its association with Steve McQueen and sheer significance in automotive culture has pushed this racer’s estimate into 8 figures.
1956 Porsche 356 A Speedster
Michelle Yancey, Premier’s Southwest Sales Manager, has her eye on Lot 5‘s Porsche 356 Speedster. There are few models more romantic than the Speedster. As a cheap, bare-bones alternative for aspiring racers, the 356B Speedster sacrificed comfort and reliable weather protection in pursuit of speed. This example is unrestored, standing the test of time thanks to fastidious stewardship.
1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 SWB
Premier’s corporate headquarters in Woodbury, Connecticut, is watching the 1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 at Lot 4. Built to compete with the likes of Rolls-Royce, the 600 is truly over-engineered. Its considerable mass is no match for the 6.3 liter V8 under the hood. High pressure hydraulic suspension ensures a smooth and level ride over any surface. The same system provides power windows, doors, and even a self-closing trunk. Just don’t get your fingers caught.
