A Porsche enthusiast picked up a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera that has been beautifully preserved at the RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island auction. It only has 41,000-miles, is painted in Guards Red and sold for $137,200. This version of the 911 Carrera was a critical link in the 911’s evolution that contributed to the model’s ongoing success.
Now that the many great automotive-based events at Amelia Island have concluded, we can look at the best of the best. At the auctions, aggregate sales were up this year, reaching $77.4 million. In addition, the 25th anniversary edition of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, held on March 8th, stands as likely the best in the event’s history.

Just 485 Maserati Mexico’s made, powered by Maserati’s racecar-derived V8 engine and offered with a choice of five-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmissions. RM Sotheby’s Scottsdale auction is offering one of the earliest Mexicos made, the 13th built. The pre-sale estimate is $125,000-$175,000.
At the 2020 Scottsdale Auction, RM Sotheby’s is offering a 2017 Ferrari F12berlinetta that happens be one of the 70 offered with a 70th-Anniversary livery. It is just 109 miles from new. The pre-sale estimate is $400k-$450k.
An unrestored 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S is coming to market from a primarily single-family ownership. It is going up for auction in London on Thursday, October 24th, and expecting to fetch between $1 to $2 million.
